    Cremorne Point Walk

    5·1 review·Google

    Description

The Cremorne Point Walk is a gorgeous 3-kilometre harbourside loop on Sydney's Lower North Shore that delivers Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and Fort Denison views without breaking a sweat -- or the bank. Catch a ferry from Circular Quay, stroll the foreshore through bushland and heritage gardens, swim in a free heritage harbour pool, grab a coffee at the wharf kiosk, and ferry home. It's one of the best short family walks in Sydney, and the ferry ride alone is worth the trip.

    Why We Love It

    • The ferry ride is half the adventure -- a 10-minute trip from Circular Quay with Sydney Harbour views that kids absolutely love, and it makes the walk feel like a proper outing rather than just another stroll.

    • MacCallum Pool is a free heritage tidal pool with a shallow end perfect for kids, a timber sun deck, and direct views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. There's nowhere else in Sydney quite like it.

    • Mostly pram-friendly on flat paved paths with the main exception being stairs at Hodgson Avenue connecting the east and west sides. Do an out-and-back on either foreshore to avoid stairs entirely.

    • Playground near Robertson's Point gives kids a play break on the eastern side of the loop, right along the harbour.

    • Some of Sydney's best sunset views from the western foreshore looking across to the Harbour Bridge and Opera House -- bring the camera for golden hour.

    • Dog-friendly on-leash so the whole family really can come along, including the four-legged member.

    Tips

    • Take the ferry: Cremorne Point Wharf is on the F7 line from Circular Quay (~10 min). Parking is extremely limited on residential streets, so the ferry is genuinely the best option.

    • Walk anti-clockwise: Head east from the wharf to see the lighthouse and playground first, then finish with MacCallum Pool and sunset views on the western foreshore.

    • Wharf kiosk hours: Cremorne Point Wharf Coffee is open 7 days (Mon-Fri 6:30am-1pm, weekends 7:30am-2:30pm) for coffee, juices, and snacks.

    • Pram tip: To avoid the Hodgson Avenue stairs, do an out-and-back along the western foreshore (wharf to MacCallum Pool and back) -- the most scenic section and fully pram-friendly.

    • Dogs on-leash only: Cremorne Reserve is not an off-leash area. Dogs must stay at least 10m from the playground.
