Blaxland Riverside Park

Blaxland Riverside Park
Description
Blaxland Riverside Park in Sydney Olympic Park is one of Sydney's most epic destination playgrounds, sprawling along the Parramatta River with enough equipment to keep kids of every age busy for hours. Think double flying fox, mega-swings, a multi-level treehouse, tunnel slides, and NSW's largest outdoor water play area — all in one seriously impressive riverside setting. If your kids still have energy after this one, we'd like to know their secret.
Why We Love It
Absolutely massive scale with separate zones for different ages, so toddlers can potter safely in the dedicated toddler playground while bigger kids tackle the scramble wall and flying fox.
NSW's largest outdoor water play facility is the ultimate summer drawcard, with water jets, channels, and splash zones running 10am to 5pm during daylight saving (10am-4pm other times).
Double flying fox and mega-swing that deliver genuine thrills for older kids and tweens — the kind of equipment that makes them actually put their screens away.
Multi-level treehouse and rope climbing structures that encourage imaginative, adventurous play across multiple levels and challenges.
Free BBQs and picnic areas right beside the action, so you can set up camp and graze while keeping eyes on the kids.
Stunning riverside location with paths perfect for bikes and scooters, plus easy connections to Bicentennial Park and the wider Sydney Olympic Park precinct.

Tips
Parking heads up: Parking is metered (since Feb 2025). Register your licence plate for the first 2 hours free (once per day). After that it's $3/hr weekdays, $5/hr weekends. Cashless only. Mobility permit holders park free.
Bring swimmers and a towel: The water play area runs 10am-5pm during daylight saving and 10am-4pm at other times. Kids will get soaked — embrace it.
Slip, slop, slap: Shade is limited across much of the park, so sunscreen and hats are non-negotiable, especially in summer.
BYO food is essential: The nearby Armory Wharf Cafe is currently closed until further notice, so pack snacks and lunch. Free BBQs are available.
Not fenced: The playground is not fenced and sits near the river, so keep a close eye on little ones.
Make a day of it: Combine your visit with nearby Bicentennial Park, Newington Armory, or the Heritage Train. You can also hire bikes and scooters from the Gate House at Newington Armory.
Arrive early on weekends: This park gets very busy on weekends and school holidays. Pop-up shelters (max 3m x 3m) are allowed but spaces cannot be booked for birthday parties.
