    Description

The Parramatta Aquatic Centre — known locally as "The PAC" — is the brand-new $88.6 million flagship indoor pool and outdoor swim complex in Parramatta, set inside the Mays Hill precinct of Parramatta Park. With four heated pools, including an indoor splash zone with zero-depth entry, it's one of the most family-friendly aquatic centres in Sydney's west.

    Why We Love It

    • Indoor splash zone for the littlies the Gunggung Badu "Frog Pool" has beach-style zero-depth entry, a kids' slide and interactive water features, all heated and undercover so it works year-round in any weather.

    • Four heated pools under one roof a 50m outdoor Memorial Pool, a 25m indoor lap pool, a dedicated indoor learn-to-swim pool, and the indoor splash zone — everything from serious laps to baby splashes in the one visit.

    • Under-5s swim free with a paying adult, and build-your-own family pricing makes a big family day out genuinely affordable for Sydney.

    • AUSTSWIM swim school from 6 months with Active Kids Vouchers accepted, so you can turn a pool day into a term-long learn-to-swim routine without breaking the bank.

    • On-site crèche Mon–Sat 9am–12:30pm for 12-week-old babies through to 5-year-olds, so you can actually do laps or hit the gym while the little ones are minded.

    • Brand-new accessible design throughout hoist access, accessible change rooms, ramps and lifts — a genuine relief if you've battled crumbling old council pools.

    • Café, family change rooms and on-site gym mean a swim morphs easily into coffee, lunch or a full family fitness session without leaving the building.

    Tips

    • Cashless venue: bring a card or use tap-to-pay — there's a small ~1.4% surcharge on counter card payments and no cash accepted anywhere on site.

    • Active Kids Vouchers accepted: apply your NSW Active Kids voucher toward swim school lessons (around $22/lesson) to subsidise term-based learn-to-swim.

    • Crèche bookings essential: the on-site crèche runs Mon–Sat 9am–12:30pm for ages 12 weeks to 5 years — book ahead so you're guaranteed a spot while you swim.

    • 50m outdoor pool closes 3:45pm on weekends: the big Memorial Pool shuts earlier than the rest of the centre on Saturdays and Sundays, so plan a morning visit if your kids love the outdoor laps.

    • Trains beat driving at peak: both Parramatta and Westmead stations are around a 15-minute walk, often quicker and less stressful than circling the car park on a busy Saturday.
