Hijinx Hotel Alexandria

Hijinx Hotel Alexandria
Description
Hijinx Hotel is an indoor amusement centre in Alexandria built around 15 themed "challenge rooms" — a quick-play cousin of the escape room where teams of 2–6 race a 4-minute timer to score points on the leaderboard. It's the world-first concept from the Funlab crew (Holey Moley, Archie Brothers), tucked inside Sydney Corporate Park so you can stack the whole afternoon into one trip.
Why We Love It
Rooms run four minutes each so kids who would never sit through a 60-minute escape room can sprint, solve, and move on before the boredom hits.
Stretches across a wide age spread — the official minimum is 5, but the giant floor piano and ball-pit rooms keep little kids engaged while the word and logic rooms give teens (and grandparents) something to chew on.
Sensory-friendly sessions with dimmed lighting and reduced music run regularly, and Alexandria has a downloadable sensory map so anxious kids can preview the space before walking in.
Same building as Holey Moley, Strike Bowling, Archie Brothers and Zero Latency VR — gold when one kid is done with rooms and another wants to keep going, all on one carpark trip.
Pick your dose: 5, 10 or all 15 rooms so you can dip in for a quick birthday-party hour or commit to the full 2.5-hour course.
Art Deco meets Willy Wonka — neon lobby, hidden corridors, and reveals behind every door, so the wow factor lands before the timer even starts.

Tips
Minimum age is 5: Younger kids will struggle with the pace, volume and instructions — the venue's official cut-off is five.
10+ is the sweet spot: Reviewers consistently say the puzzles really click at 10 and up; under-7s sometimes find it overwhelming.
Supervision rules: Kids under 10 need an adult in the rooms with them, and anyone under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult anywhere in the venue.
Curfew for under-18s: Alexandria is 18+ from 9pm Sun–Thu and 8pm Fri–Sat — book daytime if you have kids in tow.
Dress to move: You'll be jumping, ducking and reaching — flat shoes and clothes you can move in (Hijinx says no ball gowns and no high heels).
People with disability rate: $10 per session on selected activities, with carers and companions free of charge. Call 1300 897 224 to book a group of four or more.
Food stays at the bar: Pizzas, tacos and snacks can only be eaten in the Mega Bar area — no food or drink in the challenge rooms.
