    Haslams Pump Track

    Description

Haslams Pump Track is a free outdoor pump track in Sydney Olympic Park where kids can ride bikes, scooters, skateboards, and just about anything with wheels. With four interconnected circuits ranging from beginner to advanced plus a gravel track, it's one of the most inclusive riding spots in Sydney — welcoming adaptive bikes and purpose-built wheelchairs alongside traditional rides.

    Why We Love It

    • Four circuits for every skill level so your wobbly three-year-old and your fearless ten-year-old can both ride at the same time, on circuits matched to their ability.

    • Completely free, no booking needed — just rock up with a helmet and wheels and let them loose.

    • Inclusive by design with accessible pathways, and a welcome mat for adaptive bikes, wheelchairs, roller skates, and anything else that rolls.

    • Teaches momentum and balance naturally — the pump track format means kids learn to ride using body movement rather than pedalling, which builds confidence fast.

    • Right next to Monster BMX Track so once the pump track is conquered, the bigger kids can graduate to the adjacent BMX track for the next challenge.

    • Sandy's cafe at URBNSURF is a short walk away for coffee and food when the riding finally winds down.

    • Surrounded by 35km of bike paths through Sydney Olympic Park, so you can easily extend the outing into a longer family ride.

    Tips

    • BYO everything: No equipment hire on site — bring your own bike, scooter, skateboard, or wheeled device, plus a helmet (legally required for all cyclists in NSW).

    • Best time to visit: Arrive early on weekends to avoid crowds. In summer, mornings or late afternoon are best as there's limited shade.

    • Watch the weather: The track surface can be slippery when wet — avoid visiting after rain.

    • Check for event days: Sydney Olympic Park event days mean higher parking rates and congestion. Check the SOPA website before heading out.

    • Protective gear: Knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards recommended, especially for beginners and younger riders.

    • Make a day of it: Combine with URBNSURF next door or Blaxland Riverside Park for a full family day out.
