Castle Hill Heritage Park

Castle Hill Heritage Park
Description
Nestled in the heart of Castle Hill is a beautiful park perfect for a picnic or a play, that was once the site of the former Convict Farm established in 1801 and scene of the Convict Rebellion of 1804.
While you settle down under a tree on the expansive grassy areas or on one of the many sheltered picnic tables, the kids can burn some energy at the partially shaded playground (complete with water play younger kids will love). If you fancy some hot food for your picnic, there are several BBQ facilities available. For those toilet training, the toilets are located conveniently right next to the playground - so no mad marathon runs to get to the toilet on time! The park also offers some lovely concrete walking trails, with the main walking trail featuring some educational signs that follow a timeline history of the land from the use by the Dharug people, through establishment of the convict farm, church glebe, lunatic asylum, orchards and small farm holdings.
